Day One Hundred And Nineteen

Evening reader (including you, Linda!)

Been at work all day today and it was fairly busy-ish.  Only got one photo for you this evening and it is (once again) a sight that I saw out the back of the house just as I got in.  Proper nice, this one...

Day One Hundred And Eighteen

Hello there reader

Not a lot of words from me tonight because I'm shattered.

Finally got Deb's car valeted today at a new valeting place near to our house.  It came back all shiny and sparkly and shiny again.

As I was about to commence working through the ironing mountain that has built up, I glanced out, and saw this.  What a beautiful way to end the day.

Day One Hundred And Seventeen

Evening

Well. Had another good day in the garden.  Took up the stone path around what was the bark chippings area, and the log-roll, too.  I also finished off the border and when that had been raked through and de-weeded, I put some of the bark from the bottom, in the border area. So that looks nice.

Also, rang a turf farm in Hindley and ordered 30 square metres of their finest turf. Being delivered one week tomorrow!  Awesome.

And finally.... for the first time in One Hundred And Sixteen days... a photo featuring me!  My lovely weeding wife took the photo as I was shovelling stones.  I shovelled stones for a good long while today.  Frigging stones....

Day One Hundred And Sixteen

Evening

Spent a day in the garden today.  I wish I could say that it was a day of lazing about, soaking up the rays on this stunning april day.  However, that is not the case.  Last night we made a decision to re-model the garden.

A few years ago, a friend of ours, Paul and I, REALLY transformed the garden.  this time round we're picking up on lessons learned and hopefully taking it forward as a nice, safe place for Luke, his brothers and sisters, and his friends to play in for the next 5 years or so.

So, the first mission was to shift all the bark chippings.  We got it from this....

To this....

and the bark chippings???  Here....

After that was done, we set about emptying the border.  There were 4 rather large "things" in there, that were completely ridiculous to try and remove.  I got there though.  I'm sure my back will remind me of that tomorrow.  Note how full the green bin is?  Well the excess will be going back to nature tomorrow.  Over the fence that is!

And here we have Deb and Luke surveying work done.

Luke got into the swing of it, too (pardon the pun).

I know this isn't garden related, nor was it taken today, but I wanted to publish it anyway.  FAR too cute.

Day One Hundred And Fifteen

Evening reader

Woke up with the intention of washing both cars, and mowing the front lawn, but the good lord saw it fit to make it piss down, so I abandoned both of those things.

I cooked sausages for our breakfasts instead.

After lunch, it was time to get the children ready for the drive back to Wales.  I hate the trip from Rhyl to Wigan. It's lonely.  Even today, when Luke came along for the ride, it was lonely. He just sleeps and is no company at all!

Had a properly lovely day today.

I feel dreadful tonight though, so my words will be few.  I'll let the photo's tell you what's happened.

Day One Hundred And Thirteen

Ay up

It's only flippin Friday!!!

I am a happy Adum today.  Slept well, woke up - ate bacon, went and bought cleaning tools for the Barbecue, went to Rhyl, came home and cooked a meal for the children that they all enjoyed!  Just waiting for me Deb and all will be well.  Abbey isn't here this weekend as she wasn't feeling too clever when I got to Rhyl.

It's St Georges day today, so I put this on the back of the car as I drove to Rhyl.  A little mark of defiance against the Welsh.

At home, the children set about being each others best friends again....
"Bezzies"

Matthew found this, he said it is to bring Everton good luck this weekend.

And finally, a photo of Rob doing his Alan Titchmarch impression.  I am SO proud of him. He's such a fabulous boy, better still - he's my son!

Day One Hundred And Twelve

Evening again.

In the post this morning was our bank statement.  Nothing special there you might think, but - we got a free hair on it.  I promise it isn't one of mine, it was attached to the statement when I opened it....

"Eyebrow?"

I had a decent enough sleep today but woke up tired. Frustrating that, after a good sleep.  So I got to work and my friend Mark got me this...  A pint of coffee.

"Cheers!"

I am very much looking forward to the weekend. I am going to collect my children from Rhyl tomorrow.  The weather forecast for the weekend is lovely and our new Barbecue shall be Christened on Saturday night!

Day One Hundred And Eleven

The titles of these blogs are getting a bit ridiculous now. Takes me aaaages to type all that out ;-)

Luke had a bad start to his day with his Childminder.  He got himself SO worked up he ended up being sick after I'd dropped him off.  Silly Luke.

I got home and had some breakfast and then set about constructing our new barbecue.....

And finally... I went into the kitchen this morning to find that one of Luke's Easter eggs was in the direct sunlight and the sunlight won.  Soz Luke.

Day One Hundred And Ten

Evening reader

Had a busy old day at work today, broken up by a visit from Deb and Luke to take me up to Preston to collect our new barbecue.  Lovely thing it looks, too.

 "I can taste it already"

After tea, we decided to tackle Luke's ridiculous hair.  He despises having his hair cut.  You really would think he was being tortured when he has it cut.  Deb held him down and I jumped in with the trusty old hair clippers.  Whilst we aren't Tony or Guy, I think it's turned out okay.  A few straggly bits, but it wasn't the easiest job to do.

"WHERE has my hair gone????"

Day One Hundred And Nine

Evening all

Today started off like a normal working day for me (other than I was actually in quite a good mood), except when I got to work it turned out that I was able to go to Leek to visit our new friends at Britannia Building Society.  All very exciting, eh?

The first of a few photo's is of the atrium area at BBS in Leek.  Tis indeed very lovely and all that.

"Oooh - Sails"
"Long Haired Man"

Luke and my lovely wife spent the day at home being all.... creative!  A skill that I sadly lack.  They painted pictures and created things with play doh. Luke (and Deb) had a lovely time and I'm really pleased that we have cleaning cloths for our relatively new leather furniture!!  Thank you wife, for being a creative yummy mummy.

Day One Hundred And Eight

And so - to home.

We arrived home at about 4:30.  We heard an amazing game of football on 5live on the way home.  Wigan came back from 0-2 down against Arsenal to beat them 3-2!  Get in them latics.

Just one photo for you today.  It is of Luke on the steps of the barn.  He didn't want to leave. He wants to stay there for ever. I don't blame him - it was properly properly lovely.

Day One Hundred And Seven

My second retro blog - back to Saturday.

On Saturday we went to visit Raglan Castle which is in Wales.  Wales was WELL close to the barn. About 100 metres tops.

Day One Hundred And Six

My first retro blog post back to Friday.

We travelled down to Tregate, near Monmouth and decided to take the a-roads as the M6 up near us was telling us it had delays and the sat-nav was telling us that there was delays further down.  What a bloody big long drive it was.  Nice like, but a big long way all the same.

We arrived at the barn at about 5:20pm and it was completely splendid.  Spent the evening munching on barbeque food and swigging lager. Ace.

Today was Debbie's birthday and I need to thank Nik for this excellent cake. It was very very lovely indeed.

Day One Hundred And Five

Evening reader.

Luke had his first pre-birthday party in Warrington today.  Lots of his friends, and his Grandma and cousin Jacob, attended, too!

Here are a few photo's...

"Deb, Luke, Sam & Jessie"

We are off down do South Wales-ish tomorrow afternoon, so unless I am blown away with some image tomorrow morning, there will not be another post until Sunday evening.  I will update with retrospective blogs detailing the events of the weekend.
